StandTogetherNow ICOMOS Call for action SUstainable Development July2019ICOMOS joined activist NGOs and individuals calling for bold action from governments on sustainable development issues including climate, inequality and freedom of expression, during the 2019 review of the UN Sustainable Development Goals at the High-Level Political Forum that took place between July 9-18 in New York.

IMG 1689ICOMOS is once again ready to participate in the UN High-Level Political Forum, the annual summit held every July at the UN Headquarters in New York City, USA, to review the world's progress on achieving Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals. For the HLPF 2019, we have produced a custom-made publicity kit, featuring a flashdisk with a compilation of doctrinal and policy papers relevant for heritage and the SDGs, to be distributed to participants. All the documents are also available below.

HLPF Heritage 2018 squareREICOMOS partners with UCLG (United Cities and Local Governments), GPN (Global Planners Network), IFLA (International Federation of Landscape Architects) and Europa Nostra to advocate for inclusion of cultural and natural Heritage in the Ministerial Declaration of the UN High-Level Political Forum 2018 on the SDGs. The organizations have released a statement entitled “Is Heritage left behind in the HLPF Ministerial Declaration? Statement for Inclusion of Cultural and Natural Heritage with Reference to SDG 11 and Other Goals.”
